Under the Medical Direction of Hani Mansour, M.D., Medical Director of The Burn Center, the Center for Wound and Burn Healing treats a variety of non-healing wounds. A non-healing wound is one that has failed to heal after a period of 30 days. These wounds require specialized training and expertise of the multi-disciplinary wound healing team. The Center for Wound and Burn Healing at Saint Barnabas is equipped to deal with these difficult wounds. In addition to the latest wound healing agents, the center is equipped with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) chambers. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy chambers deliver 100% oxygen in a pressurized environment there by increasing the concentration of oxygen in the blood and tissue which in turn facilitates wound healing. A treatment session varies from 90-120 minutes, during which time; an individual lies comfortably in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber normally breathing the pressurized oxygen. Each chamber is equipped with its own TV and CD/DVD player, so an individual can choose their own entertainment. Located at 94 Old Short Hills Road in Livingston, New Jersey, The Center for Wound and Burn Healing is an outpatient service of Saint Barnabas Medical Center. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Most insurance is accepted at the Center but coverage will depend on each individual’s insurance.
