Saint Barnabas Medical Center Accepting Nominations for Excellence in Nursing Award Livingston, N.J. – Each year, Saint Barnabas Medical Center honors members of its nursing staff who are truly outstanding. Nominations are now being accepted from patients, employees and physicians for The 25th Annual Morton Samuels Excellence in Nursing Award. An ideal candidate is a nurse who excels, is professional, possesses excellent clinical skills and that you can always depend on. If you have had a nurse who you feel is a strong candidate to win this award, please let us know. We encourage you to include any stories or personal experiences that exemplify what is extraordinary about your nurse. The Morton Samuels Excellence in Nursing Award was established in 1985 and is made possible through the generosity of the Samuels and Lobel families. The award was created to show the family members’ appreciation for the excellent nursing care that their husband and father, Morton Samuels, received while a patient at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and to recognize the importance of nurses to patients and families. To be eligible, a nurse currently must be a registered nurse on staff with Saint Barnabas Medical Center. The nomination deadline is March 19, 2010. Awardees will be announced during Nurses’ Week in May. With your prior consent, some letters may be read at the Award Ceremony and possibly displayed at the hospital. To submit a nomination, please send us a letter about your nurse and what makes him or her outstanding. Please include your contact information (name, address, phone number and email).
