Medical/Surgical/ Telemetry Units (2100, 2200, 2300, 2400, 2700, 4100, 4700, 5200, 5300, 5700, 6700)	Visitation is Unrestricted	11:00 am – 10:00 pm
Antepartum/Obstetrics (3200, 3300, 3700, 6100)	Visitation is unrestricted for the husband or significant other. All others are permitted to visit until 11:00 pm	Anytime before 11:00 pm
Labor and Delivery	Husband/significant other plus 1 visitor	Anytime
NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)	Parent/significant other with ID Band plus 1 visitor	Anytime
Pediatrics (4200, 4300)	One parent may stay at bedside 24 hours a day. Visitation dependent on patient family preference.	Anytime
PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)* Quiet time with no visitation is 7:00 am – 8:00 am and 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm	Open visitation for parents. Visitors to pediatric patients must be cleared by the parent or guardian.	Anytime
Intensive Care Unit/ Cardiac Care Unit (ICU/CCU)* Quiet time with no visitation is from 7:00 am - 8:30 am and 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm	Call from ICU/CCU phone prior to entering the unit.	8:30 am – 7:00 pm 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm

BICU (Burn Intensive Care Unit)* · Quiet time with no visitation except parents of pediatric patient is from 6:00 am – 7:30 am and 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm · Isolation procedures must be followed as per nurse’s instruction · Immediate family only is encouraged due to infection control guidelines	Please call the BICU prior to entering the unit Visitors to pediatric patients must be cleared by the parent or guardian	12:30 pm – 6:00 pm 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm
Post Anesthesia Care Unit* · Children are not permitted in the PACU.	Staff will notify you when your loved one is ready for visitors.	Please limit visits to 10 minutes.

*Please do not bring live plants, flowers or food of any kind into the critical care units.

A Guide to A Good Visit

At Saint Barnabas Medical Center, we welcome visitors and realize the essential role they play in a patient’s recovery. For the comfort of our patients, we ask that visitors please observe the following guidelines for a good visit:

In order to give patients the opportunity to enjoy each visitor, we recommend limiting visitors to two at a time.
Help us create a quiet, healing environment by limiting noise and maximizing privacy for all patients.
Please cooperate when Healthcare team members ask you to wait in a lounge area while delivering patient care.
Please refrain from visiting if you are visibly ill (i.e., sneezing, coughing, etc.).
Please see the nurse for instructions related to visitation of minors.
For their own safety, please do not leave minors unattended in waiting rooms.
Please check with the patient’s nurse regarding any dietary restrictions before offering food or beverages to the patient.
For the safety and protection of patients and staff with allergies, latex balloons are not permitted. Mylar balloons are acceptable in all areas of the Medical Center.
We have provided hand sanitizers throughout the hospital to protect you and your loved ones from the spread of infection. Please use them before and after your visit. Rub your hands until dry for at least 15 seconds upon arrival prior to entering a patient’s room.
To promote a quiet environment, please do not make cell phone calls in the patient rooms or on the units. Feel free to go to the lounge or waiting area if you need to make a call.
Please keep your cell phones on “vibrate” while visiting.
The staff recognizes your commitment to your loved one and understands that you need time for yourself away from the hospital.
