Yes, and in early 2002, the Imaging Center at
the ACC was chosen by Philips Medical Systems,
a world leader in MRI technology, to showcase
their latest breast MRI technology. Saint Barnabas
is one of 5 sites worldwide and the only site
in the US to offer this sophisticated technology.
The radiologists at Saint Barnabas also host
a Breast MRI course to help train other physicians
to evaluate breast MRI exams and perform MRI
guided needle localizations.
We have been featured in multiple newsmagazines
and trade papers for our outstanding Breast MR
program. We have also been chosen to run a research
program to test Magnetic Resonance Elastography
(MRE) a new and exciting addition to Breast MRI,
which may some day help better characterize breast
lesions, helping women in the future.
