The Saint Barnabas Health Care System’s
(SBHCS) vision to integrate and standardize its six Heart
Centers is rapidly taking shape. We shared with you in October – in
the first issue of The Cardiovascular News Beat – an
ambitious project underway that will
bring new imaging data and management technologies to our
hospitals. This issue outlines current measures with Philips
Healthcare, Lumedx, General Electric and others to move toward
a state-of-the-art, digital cardiovascular care environment – one
which
will improve communication and efficiencies among cardiologists,
cardiothoracic surgeons and clinical staff.
The first two issues of The Cardiovascular
News Beat focused on technology assessments. Advances in
medical care are equally important. Therefore, the newsletter
will also begin to feature changes in clinical services that
