Xcelera Technology Gets Good Reviews

Xcelera is an advanced solution for multi-modality image management, physician reporting and information distribution. At a single work station with dual monitors, physicians can retrieve and
view high resolution cath and echo studies side by side, along with the standardized, quantitative reports. Archived studies are currently being linked to the system for viewing, but will ultimately be transferred to the new archive from which they will also be retrieved at the work station at significantly improved speeds. Physicians are giving the system good reviews.

“Cardiologists and surgeons at different facilities can consult on a case without repeating studies. If a patient from northern New Jersey has chest pain while at the Shore for a holiday, we can go to the computer and pull up their images. It is a good example of using technology to drive down costs while improving care.”
Sabino Torre, MD

“The image quality is excellent.”
Alan Lapa, MD

“You can change the image contrast and freeze or speed images to improve viewing. If you are not satisfied with the accuracy of the measurements, you can do the measurements yourself right on the desktop. Reports are more complete because the drop-down menus have more potential options. And for TEE, procedural notes are on macro, so there is no need to dictate.”
