Marc Roelke, MD, Director of Electrophysiology at Newark
Beth Israel Medical Center and Saint Barnabas Medical Center,
completed separate cardiology, pacemaker, and electrophysiology
fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital, a major teaching
hospital of Harvard Medical School. His residency in internal
medicine was performed at the University of Chicago Hospitals.
He received his medical degree from Columbia University College
of Physicians & Surgeons and his undergraduate education
at Brown University. He is board certified in Internal Medicine,
Cardiovascular Diseases, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology,
and is a Testamur of the NASPE exam for special competency
in pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators
(ICDs).
Dr. Roelke is the author and co-author of numerous articles,
abstracts and book chapters. He is also an invited lecturer,
and reviews manuscripts for Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology,
the American Journal of Cardiology, and Catheterization
and Cardiovascular Diagnosis. Dr. Roelke is a member
of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology,
and the Society of Electrophysiology, and is a fellow in
the American College of Cardiology. He has served as principal
investigator, and has an interest in, clinical trials related
to new techniques and devices in electrophysiology and cardiac
pacing, including biventricular pacing for congestive heart
failure and ablation of arrhythmias such as atrial flutters
and fibrillation.
