Arrival: Check-in with the receptionist! Update us with any new information such as a new mailing address, new cell or home phone number, or any new changes to your health insurance coverage.
Check your stats: We will get a current height and weight measurement for your chart. Blood pressure and oxygen saturation readings will also be taken.
Testing
Pulmonary Function Testing: Depending on the age of the patient we will perform pulmonary breathing tests to measure current lung function. The respiratory therapist may review correct airway clearance techniques or recommend some supportive breathing exercises with you.
Exercise Testing: The respiratory therapist can measure general endurance and lung function via a 6-minute exercise test. The respiratory therapist can be an invaluable resource for home-care therapies and airway clearance information. Feel free to ask questions!
Pulmonologist: This physician will examine you and assess and changes in your lung and overall health. A general health plan with tangible goals will be created and revised during each visit.
Social Worker: Our social worker is available to provide range of valuable services:
- Advocacy for children, adults and families
- Resources regarding hospital and community resources.
- Care coordination and discharge counseling.
- Emotional support and counseling.
- Crisis intervention
- Appropriate referral services.
Dietician: Our dietician helps to keep your growth and weight on track. Advice on calorie consumption, meal planning, and vitamin plans is readily available!
