New Appointments

Vinaya Rao, M.D.Vinaya Rao, M.D., Joins the Team of Saint Barnabas Health Care System Nephrologists

The latest nephrologist to join the Saint Barnabas Health Care System is Vinaya Rao, M.D., a board-certified physician, who comes to Saint Barnabas from Miami, Florida. Dr. Rao received much of her education abroad in India, Italy, and Austria. Thereafter, she came to the United States where she completed a residency in internal medicine at the Presbyterian Medical Center, University of Pennsylvania Health System, Philadelphia; a fellowship in nephrology at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami, Florida; as well as a fellowship in transplantation medicine at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, in Madison, Wisconsin. She has published numerous articles in professional medical journals.

M. Isabel Roberti, M.D., Ph.D.M. Isabel Roberti, M.D., Ph.D., Appointed New Director of Pediatric Nephrology and Transplantation at Saint Barnabas

M. Isabel Roberti, M.D., Ph.D., was recently appointed the new Director of Pediatric Nephrology and Transplantation at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Roberti has been with the program as its Associate Director since it was established in 1996.

Dr. Roberti completed her medical degree, residency, and pediatric nephrology fellowship at the Escola Paulista de Medicina in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and an additional fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York. She received her Ph.D. in pediatrics at the Hospital Sao Paulo.

Dr. Roberti is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric nephrology and is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Noosha Baqi, M.D.Pediatric Nephrology and Transplantation Welcomes Noosha Baqi, M.D., as New Associate Director

Noosha Baqi, M.D., has joined Saint Barnabas Medical Center as its new Associate Director of Pediatric Nephrology and Transplantation. Dr. Baqi comes to Saint Barnabas from SUNY Health Science Center — Downstate University Hospital of
Brooklyn, where she was Associate Professor of Pediatric Nephrology and Director of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology.

Dr. Baqi has 20 years of experience in medicine. She completed her medical degree at Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan, and a pediatric internship and residency at Harlem Hospital in New York. She completed a post-graduate training course at Mayo Hospital in Pakistan, followed by a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York. Dr. Baqi is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric nephrology.
