Criteria for Graduation

  • Pharmacist licensure from the NJ Board of Pharmacy by September 1st
  • Earning an “Achieved for the Residency” for select ASHP residency goals (9 goals of the required 32)
  • Earning an “Achieved for the Residency” for 80% of the remaining 23 goals
  • Completion of 1 IRB approved residency project and written manuscript in publishable form
  • Completion of 1 medication use evaluation
  • Create or revise one hospital policy, procedure, or protocol
  • Provide, at a minimum, the following presentations:
    • 1 patient case presentation
    • 10 topic discussions and 1 formulary monograph
    • 2 journal clubs and 2 formal DI questions
    • 1 clinical competency education lecture
    • 1 pharmacy in-service and 5 clinical huddles
    • 1 nursing or medical provider education
    • Revise or create 1 hospital policy
    • Submit a written manuscript in publishable form for the residency research project
  • Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics meetings and prepare minutes for the meetings
  • Attend/observe the following committee meetings as a guest at least once
    • Antibiotic Stewardship Committee
    • Department Head Meeting
    • Medication Management
    • RWJBarnabas Health Clinical Council
    • RWJBarnabas Health Directors Council
  • Maintain active involvement in ASHP and NJSHP
    • Present Project Poster at ASHP Midyear
    • Present Project Poster at NJSHP Midyear
    • Present at Eastern State Conference
  • Inpatient Pharmacy Staffing Assignment (Every Other Weekend)
