Who We Are

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Foundation

The Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Development Department is a public non-profit that was established in 1985 to foster philanthropic connections with individuals, corporations and foundations to support world-class medical care for the patients of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children's Hospital of New Jersey.

Founded in 1901, “The Beth,” as it is fondly known, is located in the south ward of the city of Newark, New Jersey’s largest city. NBIMC is an affiliate of RWJBarnabas Health, the state’s largest and most diversified health care system.

Home of our Heart Center at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey, we are the only Medicare-certified medical center in the state performing heart transplants. NBIMC is the site of the first kidney transplant program in New Jersey.
